UAF campus mobile LiDAR collection planning

Thursday Sept. 5, 2013 | UAF WRRB Parking Lot

James Young from Aerometric, author of http://bloglidar.com/ and the AeroMetric/Maser Consulting team's mobile LiDAR unit provided an introduction to the Mobile LiDAR followed by a data collection of an upper campus loop (see below)

The Demo of the LiDAR unit was to educate interested parties on the technology, how it works and what can be derived from the data. A data collection of an upper campus collection will be provided that data to UAF and interested parties so that it can be evaluated.

Actual West Ridge Route

Data delivered would be fairly raw and will be relatively accurate but not abbolutely accurant. During the collection a base station 5 miles away at another project site was left running. Relative accuracy should be in the range of 2 to 3 mm

This is offered by Aerometric to UAF for free as a sample research product for evaluation.

Thanks to James Wilder and Aerometric for this offer.
